| TEAMWORK SHINES ON
'ONE TREE HILL' |
| What does the saying "There
is no 'I' in 'Team'" mean to each
and every person? When you become part of
a team, are you a member of that team
forever? Does one lose their
individuality and become part of the
group? Monday night's episode of One
Tree Hill featured several
characters rising up to the challenge of
ultimate teamwork. Despite the odds, the
hardships and the pain, they set aside
their own personal needs and worked
together. At what point can a team change
back into "I"? Brooke
Davis has proven herself as not only a
wonderful person and friend but a mother
as well. After finally reaching happiness
within herself and being there for close
friends, she has found her niche as a
caring, loving mother. Her emotional
connection to her adopted baby is
extremely endearing and heartfelt. Her
determination to give her the best life
possible is touching, especially with the
help of long-time friend Lucas Scott.
Of course, when it comes
down to it, how many of us were excited
to witness some totally inspiring Brucas
moments? As a fan myself, I must admit I
do hope this doesn't transform into a
Lucas/Brooke love affair. There is only
so much fans can endure of the Peyton/Lucas/Brooke
love triangle that refuses to die. If
anything, by continuing to throw Lucas'
true feelings around, his character's
authenticity continues to become
increasingly hazy.
Millicent continues to nurture a budding
relationship with her boyfriend Mouth.
With unique career goals and different
pasts, Mouth and Millicent have learned
to overcome each other's fears and
struggles and merely lean on each other
for support. Millicent learned how to co-exist
within an apartment of three adventurous
guys simply by attending to their
interests. (Who doesn't like a water gun
fight every now and then?) Despite being
incredibly busy at work, she still found
time to build up Mouth's confidence
during Mouth's milestone sports
broadcasting debut.
With a game-changing injury,
Q chose to remove himself from the Ravens
basketball team. Without the use of his
hand, his talent and his passion, he was
confident that his membership on the team
no longer counted for anything. The
guidance and encouragement by his coaches
and a special little five-year-old
finally opened his eyes to the true
meaning of teamwork. Despite still
wearing a cast, Q rejoined the team,
determined to help out his teammates take
it to the top. Q eventually seemed to
realize that when one way doesn't work
out, try another. Given all the odds, one
simply can't give up so easily.
Somewhere along the way,
teams broke and the loyalties that once
were present became extinct. Dan Scott
murdered his own brother in cold blood
and in return destroyed a future with his
two sons. His former wife, Deb, and ex-wife,
Karen, have each made brief appearances
on the show so far. Karen, who's been
away in Paris with her boyfriend and Lily,
has yet to hold a significant role this
season. Though Deb made her appearance at
Jamie's birthday party, she made it clear
to Dan that his presence was unwanted.
Despite Dan pouring his
heart out to his son, Nathan stood loyal
to his family. With Dan's days limited,
Nathan cut the last tie holding Dan to
the Scott family. Nathan's last words to
his father may very well be "Leave
my family alone."
Next week's episode clips
reveal nothing useful for us avid fans.
Could Lucas and Peyton making out on his
bed just be an elaborately created mind-game?
Or maybe it's one of Peyton's dreams. But
since many of us are surely crossing our
fingers, we have to wonder: Has Lucas
finally unlocked his heart?

| 5x17 'HATE IS SAFER
THAN LOVE' SNEAK PEEK |

| BROOKE'S BABY: THE
ULTIMATE FASHION ACCESSORY |
I know that outlandish and
sudsy storylines are definitely part of
the appeal of watching primetime soaps
such as One Tree Hill, but
sometimes, you have just have to say
enough is enough. Is it just me, or is
anybody else having difficulty suspending
disbelief that a social welfare agency
would willingly hand over Angie a
real baby with actual health problems
over to Brooke, a young woman,
barely out of her teenage years, without
so much as a background check?
Notwithstanding my own personal distaste
for procreation, I understand that some
people actually like children and want to
have families. Their reasons are often
valid, but I have a hard time getting
behind Brooke's decision. As far as I can
see, the only reason why she wants a
child is to fill the gaping maw of
emptiness in her life, something to
validate her, to distract her. And also,
maybe because adopted foreign babies are
the latest in hot accessories, as
evidenced by the likes of Madonna and
Angelina Jolie who seem to be adopting
foreign babies every other week. You
might think I'm being way harsh on Brooke
but just think of the last few moments of
Monday's One Tree Hill when
Brooke presented her new brand of toddler
clothing. Angie's purpose was solely to
further Brooke's career.
Brooke (Sophia Bush) may have a genuine
desire to care for a child, but the fact
that she takes it as a personal affront
that baby Angie will not smile is proof
that she is not ready for the
responsibility. I don't know, Brooke,
maybe it's because Angie has a hole in
her heart that she's not full of smiles
and giggles. Brooke is still a very young
woman and having a baby is not a matter
to take lightly. It's not like fostering
a kitten or a puppy, and even that
requires a lot of work. Hopefully, Angie
will only be under Brooke's care until
her much needed surgery, and then she'll
return home to her parents. By then, I
have no doubt that Brooke will have
already returned to her usual pattern of
flightiness and drama.
The only good that I can see coming out
of the baby situation is that bonding
over Angie may be bringing Brooke and
Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) closer
together. I don't care whether they
reunite as a couple, as long as Lucas
stops pining after Lindsey. There is
altogether too much pining occurring on One
Tree Hill.SOURCE

DISHES ABOUT 'GUITAR HERO' AND 'TREE HILL' |
| Greenville native Lee
Norris has been acting in Wilmington off
and on since he was 6 years old. But this
weekend marks his first visit to the N.C.
Azalea Festival, where the One Tree
Hill actor is appearing as a
celebrity guest with co-stars Chad
Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton. During
a break from filming the final episodes
of the show's fifth season last week,
Norris, who plays wannabe sports reporter
Mouth McFadden, talked about his love of

| SOPHIA AND JAMES
REAL LIFE COUPLE? |
| Sophia Bush and rumored
boyfriend James Lafferty, both co-stars
on One Tree Hill, arrive
together at LAX airport in Los Angeles on
Monday. The couple
patiently waited for their luggage and
for Sophias one-eyed pit bull,
Patch, to arrive so she could load him
into her car.
Late last month, Sophia, 25,
and James, 22, were supposedly looking
cozy in a corner at NYCs
Meatpacking hotspot 1Oak with her hand on
his thigh.
Could this be another One
Tree Hill real-life romance? (Sophia and
co-star Chad Michael Murray were once
upon a time married.)

| OK! INTERVIEW WITH LISA
GOLDSTEIN (MILLICENT) |
The buzz around the current
season of One Tree Hill
five-year flash-forward notwithstanding
may have been about Kevin
Federlines much-anticipated guest
appearances, but theres one person
whos causing more talk than K-Fed
himself Lisa Goldstein.
Doesn't sound familiar?
Thats Millicent to you,
Brookes (Sophia Bush) assistant
whos slowly winning over fans alike
with her gentle, quirky, awkward ways and
is one-half of the shows newest
it couple with the unlucky-in-love
Mouth (Lee Norris).
I think their relationships
adorable and their characters are so
innocent so I think its a good
match, Lisa tells OK! of
her on-screen romance. She kind of
brings him back to the moral guy he was
before he started sleeping with his boss.
And the relationship is only going to get
more serious the two have already
moved in together on the show and
spoiler alert! will be one of the
few couples spared drama come the season
finale, Lisa teases.
Mouth and Millicent are still
together and theyre taking steps to
further their relationship as the season
goes on, she says. Everybody
else is up in the air. Nobody knows
whats going to happen with Peyton
and Lucas or Brooke and Lucas or Lindsey
and Lucas nobody knows.
What Lisa does know though is that she
definitely will be returning for the CW
dramas sixth season next year, an
unexpected development for her as
Millicent was only planned for the season
premiere. Charmed by early cuts of Lisa,
the powers that be requested her role to
be more than a one-time thing on One
Tree Hill.
They asked the writers if they
wanted to start writing for me and they
did, she says. And they did
and I just kept coming back more and more
first as a co-star and now I feel I'm at
the top of the show.
And why not? One Tree Hill is
the actress first foray into
television. A lifelong theater vet, Lisa,
who spent the last few years performing
stage productions of Disney films in
Florida, landed the part of Millicent
with relative ease.
[My agent] called me and said I
could either audition for the
receptionist or the dorky assistant and I
was like, Ill do the dorky
assistant. It will be way more fun,
she recounts. We put the audition
on tape and sent it up to Wilmington, N.C.
and about a week later I totally forgot
about and my agent called and said that I
booked it. I was shocked!
It was a different emotion when she first
showed up on the set, walking into an
already established series with a tight-knit
cast.
I didnt know what to expect.
I never been on a TV set before, but
everyone was so nice and the nervousness
kind of worked with the character I was
doing that day so it was actually perfect,
Lisa says. But everyone was so
welcoming now I feel apart of the cast.
Nowadays, Lisa is definitely feeling
part of the cast, and just
like their characters, she and Sophia
have become BFFs off-screen as well.
Sofia and I are actually going to
get pedicures today. Shes a great
person with a great heart and Im
lucky to have met her.
One person she didn't meet on set though?
K-Fed. The aspiring rapper/actor had a
three-episode arc on the show, but he and
Lisa never crossed paths. However, he
certainly exceeded everyone's
expectations.
"From what everybody says they were
all really impressed with him he came
everyday on time and prepared," she
says. "Hilarie Burton was like, 'He
would know on my trailer door and run
lines with me.' He really wanted to do a
good job. We were pleasantly surprised."

| 5TH ANNUAL CHARITY
GAME ATTRACTS 1,300 'OTH' FANS |
| Ryan | April 29, 2008
| | |
| The fifth annual James
Lafferty One Tree Hill Charity Basketball
Game was part real athletic event, part
Hollywood. A DJ played music while actors
dribbled down the court. Free throws were
shot shirtless. And the second half was
almost delayed because Jackson Brundage,
the 6-year-old actor who plays Jamie on
the filmed-in-Wilmington series, was so
caught up dancing on the court, Lafferty
had to pick him up and plop him down on
the sidelines. Each
year, Lafferty, who plays basketball
mentor Nathan Scott on The CW drama,
hosts the game in Wilmington to thank his
fans for their support and to raise money
for various charities.
This year, the money raised
at the event went to St. Jude
Childrens Research Hospital,
Wilmington Family YMCA and Winnies
Garden.
I think its a
great opportunity for fans of the show to
meet the cast and I think its for a
great cause, said Chloe Glenn, a 21-year-old
fan from New Jersey.
She and her friend,
Michelle DuBois, 24, from Atlanta, have
attended the games for the past two years.
Other fans came from as far away as
Canada, Ohio and Florida. The winners of
a recent Macys Weekend in
Wilmington contest attended, too. After
the game, they were on their way to a
party with the cast and a private concert
by musician and fifth season guest star
Kate Voegele.
The night before the game,
DuBois and Glenn got their own special
encounter. While walking around downtown
Wilmington, they ran into Joe Manganiello,
who plays Owen the bartender this season.
To their surprise, he stopped and talked
with them.
Theyre just
good people, down to earth, DuBois
said of the cast.
DuBois and Glenn were among
the 1,300 fans who paid $25 a ticket to
see the cast and crew. Tickets, which
went on sale more than a month ago, sold
out in less than 10 minutes.
Saturdays game began at 11 a.m.,
but many fans showed up hours in advance
and many stayed late into the afternoon.
The game, a face-off
between the old and
new lineups of Tree Hill
Ravens (the series fictional high-school
team), started out tough for
Laffertys home team. The actor, who
won his high schools MVP award in
basketball, wore his characters old
black jersey.
Helping him out were co-stars
Antwon Tanner (who plays Skills), Stephen
Colletti (Chase), Vaughn Wilson (Fergie)
and others.
The newbies, who included
Manganiello and wore white jerseys,
racked up points early on. Laffetys
team fought back to end the first half 40-37.
But the momentum did not
last. The gamed ended with the new cast
members pulling off 89 points to the old
school-ers 83.
It probably did not help
that Brundage, Sophia Bush (Brooke), Lee
Norris (Mouth) and the shows
creator, Mark Schwahn, had microphones on
the sidelines and were giving the players
a hard time.
The new Ravens have
the lead, but the old Ravens have more
screen time, Schwahn announced at
one point to the crowd. But I think
if the new Ravens continue to have the
lead, theyll have even less screen
time.
Its likely most fans
will not remember the details of the game,
however. After the two 20-minute halves,
most of the 1,300 fans queued up to wait
(and wait) to seek autographs from cast
members armed with uncapped Sharpies. The
cast signed everything from DVDs and
inflatable pink flamingoes to posters and
the shirts on fans backs.
Meanwhile, crew members
stood in the center of the court and
auctioned off items from the set. The
first item, a photo with the cast in
attendance, went for $1,000 cash.
Scores of happy teenage
girls walked out of Cape Fear Community
Colleges Shwartz Center giggling
and firmly clutching their autographs.
I expected chaos,
said 17-year-old fan Elizabeth Reese from
Virginia. This was her first game.
I watched all season, religiously.
